WALT: the Mysteries of the Rosary.

This week we have been learning about The Rosary. Today we have explored the different Mysteries of the Rosary. The Mysteries of the Rosary are stories from the bible. When St Dominic taught people how to pray The Rosary he wanted people to know and love God, through prayer and the bible stories.

Joyful Mysteries

These stories focus on the early life of Jesus.

• The Birth of Jesus
• The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple
• The Finding of Jesus in the Temple

Sorrowful Mysteries

These stories are about Jesus' suffering at the time of his death.

• The Agony in the Garden of Gethsemene

• The Crowning with Thorns
• The Carrying of the Cross
• The Crucifixion

Glorious Mysteries

These stories reflect on the terrific things that happened after Jesus' death which bring people joy and hope.
